Information we collect

We collect information you provide through registration, your profile, submissions, and communications with us. We also collect technical and activity information about use of the service, which may include IP address, browser and device details, referral sources, sign-ins, pages and content viewed, searches, clicks, downloads, learning progress, timestamps, and interactions with our communications. We may connect these records with your account and combine activity across the Active Learning Institute services you use. Do not assume that activity within the service is anonymous or unrecorded.

How we use information

We use this information to provide and administer membership, remember activity and progress, personalize learning, communicate with you, troubleshoot and improve the service, prevent misuse, protect intellectual property, enforce our agreement, and meet legal obligations. Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, we rely on contract only for processing necessary to provide the agreed service, legitimate interests where legally available and appropriate, legal obligations, or consent when required. Acceptance of the membership agreement does not waive privacy rights or replace consent required for other purposes.

Service providers and tracking

We may use providers for hosting and storage, account authentication, communications, customer support, security, and analytics. They may process relevant account, technical, and activity information to perform those functions. Cookies and similar technologies may support sign-in, preferences, security, and usage measurement. Browser settings can limit cookies, although some features may stop working. We do not treat a browser’s Do Not Track signal as a request to disable all logging; we must honor legally required opt-out signals. Advertising, cross-site tracking, or sale or sharing of information requiring additional notice, consent, or opt-out controls must be subject to those protections; this policy is not blanket permission for those activities. We may also disclose information where legally required or necessary to protect rights, address misuse, or complete a business transfer subject to applicable protections. None of the sharing described in this section applies to text messaging opt-in data and consent, which the Text messaging section below governs.

Text messaging (SMS)

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages from Active Learning Institute, we use your number only to send the messages you requested, such as event registration confirmations, reminders, and updates. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as our text message delivery provider, is permitted only to deliver the messages you requested. All other categories of sharing in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Message frequency varies, up to 6 messages per event. Message and data rates may apply. Retention

We do not apply a single automatic deletion deadline to all records. Account, content, activity, support, and enforcement records may remain after inactivity or account closure, and may be retained indefinitely where applicable law permits. Where law requires a retention limit, we must limit retention to what is necessary for the stated purpose, considering ongoing service needs, security and intellectual-property enforcement, legal recordkeeping, and applicable claim periods. Account closure does not itself erase every record. This does not override a valid deletion request or a legal requirement to delete or anonymize information.

Your choices and rights

Contact support@activelearning.com to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your information, or to exercise other rights available under applicable law, including objection, restriction, withdrawal of consent, or an applicable appeal. We may verify your identity and apply lawful exceptions. You may complain to your relevant privacy regulator. Marketing messages, if sent, include an unsubscribe option; essential account and service messages may continue. Information may be processed where we or our providers operate; legally required transfer safeguards must apply. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
